Terms of Service

1. What Tagalong Is

Tagalong ("the Service") is a web application operated by Tagalong ("we", "us", "our") that lets children track stuffed animals on a virtual map with daily adventure stories and fun facts. The Service is available at tagalong.club.

2. Who Can Use Tagalong

Tagalong is designed for children ages 3–12, used with parental supervision. By using the Service or purchasing a subscription, you represent that you are at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian consent.

The free tier does not require an account or any personal information. Paid subscriptions are purchased by parents or guardians.

3. Free & Paid Tiers

• Free tier: Up to 3 active stuffed animals with daily stories and map tracking. No account or payment required.
• Explorer tier: Unlimited stuffed animals, all regions, and premium features. Requires a paid subscription via Stripe.

4. Payments & Subscriptions

• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
• Explorer subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or annually) until cancelled.
• You may cancel at any time. Your Explorer access continues through the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at hello@tagalong.club for refund requests.

5. Your Data

Tagalong stores all stuffed animal data locally in your browser's localStorage. We do not collect, store, or transmit personal information. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Because data is stored locally, clearing your browser data will remove your stuffed animals. We recommend using the in-app export/backup feature to save your data.

6. Content

All adventure stories, fun facts, and animal information in Tagalong are pre-written and reviewed for child safety and factual accuracy. We make every effort to ensure content is age-appropriate, but we do not guarantee that all content is error-free.

Custom names given to stuffed animals by users are stored only on the user's device and are not moderated by us.

7. NFC Tags

Physical NFC tags sold by Tagalong are optional accessories. They contain a URL that opens the Tagalong app — no personal data is stored on the tag. Tags are non-refundable once programmed. Lost or damaged tags can be replaced by contacting us.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to access, modify, or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
• Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the app's code or content
• Use the Service for any illegal, harmful, or commercial purpose without permission
• Automate access to the Service (bots, scrapers, etc.)

9. Intellectual Property

All content, code, design, stories, and branding in Tagalong are owned by us and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce or redistribute any part of the Service without written permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free content, or compatibility with all devices and browsers.

Animal locations shown in the app are simulated and fictional. They do not represent real GPS tracking or real animal movements.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tagalong shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to data loss from clearing browser storage.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state in which Tagalong operates.
